3 days Marrakech Fes Desert Tour

Day 1

Marrakech to Dades via Ait Benhaddou and Ouarzazate:

3 days Marrakech Fes desert tour starts from your Hotel/Riad in Marrakech driving through the Atlas Mountains. Many stops will be on the way to take pictures and to enjoy the amazing view of the Atlas Mountains and the Tizi N’tichka pass which is about 2260 m ALT.  

Continuing our journey along the small Berber villages to get to Ait-Benhaddou Kasbah. Built right on the caravan route between Marrakech and the Sahara, this walled city was once a trading post in the 17th century.  Ait Benhaddou (Aït Benhaddou is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Morocco, famous for its stunning earthen clay architecture and picturesque ksar, which has served as a backdrop for numerous films. Nestled along the former caravan route between the Sahara and Marrakech, it showcases the rich cultural history of the region). 

 After lunch and a visit to the Kasbah, we will drive to the town of Boumalne Dades via Ouarzazate, known as the Hollywood of Africa. Here we will stop and visit Atlas Studios where some famouse movies been shooted (including Gladiator (2000)The Mummy (1999)Game of Thrones (TV series)Babel (2006)Lawrence of Arabia (1962)) and Kasbah Taourirt.

Your way will be through the palm groves of Skoura and the Valley of Roses. In the evening we will arrive in Boumalne Dades where we will spend the first night. Dinner and breakfast

Day 2

Dades Valley – Tinghir – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Erg-Chebbi Sand Dunes of Merzouga

After your breakfast, You will start your day in Dades Valley stopping at some panoramic views and the strange rock formation known as the Monkey Toes. Before heading to the stunning Todra Valley with its Berber villages and palm groves.

Then to Todra Gorge, a cool and natural place with orange towering cliffs, the canyons of Todra are almost 300m high. It is also a favorite place for rock climbers, you will have around half-hour time to explore this incredible place on your own. Then we continue our journey to the Sahara desert along many Berber villages such as Tinjdad, Melaab, and Erfoud. 

Lunch will be whenever you want it on the way. Arriving at the Erg-Chebbi sand dunes where you will ride your camels for about 1 hour through the beautiful unique orange sand dunes to enjoy a beautiful sunset. Dinner and breakfast will be at the camp

Day 3

Merzouga – Ziz Valley – Midelt City – Cedar Forest – Ifrane City – Fez

On the last day of our 3-day trip, we will wake you up early in the morning to enjoy the fabulous sunrise in the Sahara desert. Get your breakfast and ride your camels back to Merzouga village. Here you will meet your driver and start your last day of the trip towards Fes via Aoufous and the Ziz Valley where we will stop for a panoramic view.

Continue to Midelt via Tizi N’talghoumte pass where you can have lunch. After lunch, your way will continue via the Cedar woods in the Middle Atlas Mountains. Stop there to see the Barbarian Apes, then to Ifrane which is called the “Switzerland of Morocco”. Short stop here then to Fes where teh trip end.
